On August 1st I had the pleasure of capturing Frank and Lucy’s beautiful wedding. As you’ll see from the images the weather was a warm and sunny day. The couple chose an intimate ceremony at Bletchley Registry Office. The Bridal party then moved on to Chicheley Hall in Newport Pagnell, for their wedding Breakfast and another ceremony and blessing carried out by their Minister. The blessing was very spiritual and deep. The Wedding was very intimate, with full attention and importance surrounding their faith. I felt very special to be involved! It was a very serene and moving ceremony.
Chicheley Hall is a Grade I listed building. It is complemented by the extensive gardens that can accommodate marquees for up to 300 guests. The venue is licensed for civil ceremonies. The Main House and its bar, sitting room, and dining room provides the ideal venue for, both intimate and exclusive wedding receptions.
The main door opens to a fine panelled Great Hall, with a classical double-height ceiling. Beautiful marble columns, lead you to oak staircases to the upper floors. There is ‘secret’ library on the upper floor, with all shelving and books concealed behind what appears to be panelling. The interior includes some of the finest woodcarving, joinery and plasterwork in any English country house of its period.
The new Bride and Groom welcomed everyone joining them for their wedding breakfast, their Minister also joined us for the day! I had also been invited to join them for a very special wedding breakfast. I felt very honoured to be invited to join them. It was a lovely celebration.
I felt that I had known them all for far longer than just the wedding day. I became a guest, with family and friends treating me as their own. To be part of the couple’s big day, to carry the importance of documenting their memories, their history, for generations to see, isn’t just a job, it is a passion for me. I can’t think of anything better as a job! You’re seeing happiness, love and exchanges of vows. You’re experiencing special moments, made even more special when you are invited to stop working, and join in fully with the couples celebration meal. It also means that as a wedding photographer, I’m doing something right. For me it became a proud, and poignant moment!
Many Congratulations to the New Mr and Mrs Da Silva!
